Will I get my stolen Iphone 5 back?

Today while I was at Gamestop I sat my Iphone 5 on the counter and when I came back into the store a few moments later it was gone. The security cameras clearly displays a black woman in blue tights, hoop ear rings, carrying a large purse stealing it. She took the phone while the clerk had his back turned and put it in her purse. I already filed a police report and the police went to Gamestop to retreive the footage. I pressed charges but I'm wondering how this sort of thing works. The woman used her credit card while in the store so the polce have her information. I have already alerted AT&T so they know my phone is stolen so now no one can use it, even if they "jail break" it. What happens if she refuses to give over the iphone? Will she have to pay for it? Will we have to go to court? I have no idea how this sort of thing works.

Every single product that Apple sells, has a thing called "Locator", where they can locate a stolen phone by its item number, or some kind of number. All you have to do is report.

Since "a black woman in blue tights, hoop ear rings, carrying a large purse" is completely irrelevant information, I suspect that it was given for dramatic or rhetorical purposes. I doubt that any of this happened.

If it did, all you could know is that she used A credit card. You don't know that she used HERS, or that police have her information. Claiming to know things you can't is another reason to suspect it's all made up.

Will you get it back? Maybe. I think the odds are against it, but it's certainly not impossible.
