Will I lose my music on my iphone?

Being the uncoordinated idiot that I'm, I dropped my laptop and it is most likely that my hard drive is broken.So, I've lost all of my stuff, including my music on iTunes. But, I still have it on my iphone.So, once I get a new hard drive and reinstall iTunes, will I be able to plug in my iphone and have the music upload to iTunes? Most of my music is from cd's, so there isn't an iTunes record of me buying it.

And in the time it's been on your computer, you've never tried saving it to something like a CD or flash drive? Computers break down or get replaced all the time. Songs are just data files - they can be copied just like any data files. I've saved my files and still have usable discs burned a decade ago.

Generally no - Apple products tends to save in only one direction - to a device. Apple designed it that way because they sell both devices and the media that goes on it. This has been a basic feature of iPhones for years, yet people still spend hundreds of dollars on these things and don't learn of their limitations.

You can get sharepod or copytrans - I've never used either one, but they've been… Mentioned… On sites like everymac. However, in the future, you should remember to copy your ripped music to something external. When used as a data disc, a blank CD can hold 700 MB of music, which is enough for nearly 150 3.5 minute songs. A blank DVD can hold 6x that. These solutions aren't foolproof, but the cost and reliability of doing that (against the same when you do nothing) make it crazy not to try saving your music.
