Will iphone 5 be unlocked or locked?

Will the iPhone 6 and 6 plus be unlocked to use in other countries?

i want to preorder mine but I'm worried it isn't unlocked

You can purchase the phones locked or unlocked.

Locked means it is locked to a specific carrier, such as Verizon. Unlocked means that it is not locked to any specific carrier.

Either way, they will work internationally. If it is locked, you would have to be roaming on Verizon and would not be able to use a local SIM. Unlocked, you could use a local SIM while traveling if you wished to do so.

I'm not sure about an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 plus. But I unlocked my Vodafone network locked iPhone5 recently. I unlocked it using remote unlocking service. I got the remote unlocking service for an iPhone 5 from http://www.prounlocking.com/apple-iphone-5/rs5wp9/ This method of unlocking an iPhone was safe, simple, affordable, quick and permanent. It doesn't require a jailbreak too.
