Will my iPhone become bricked after updating to iOS 7 without registering my UDID?
I recently downloaded iOS 7 without registering my UDID number. I have followed the steps perfectly by holding shift and clicking update software on iTunes and selecting the iOS 7 ipsw. I was wondering if my iPhone will become bricked when the iOS 7 beta 2 comes out to developers. I have watched one youtube video and it says it will become bricked and read a comment on another website saying it won't if you have followed the steps perfectly. Will you guys help me?
Likely. The beta versions expire & just cause you have beta 1 doesn't mean beta 2 will work through the same loophole. Should go back to iOS 6 sooner than later.
Once the expiration date (June or July 24 I can't recall) hits, if you have not updated to beta 2 your phone will deactivate itself. Your options are to either get someone to register your device to allow the update or downgrade the firmware back to 6.1.3. You are safe for a while, but just know that your firmware will expire.
Yep It will expire on you unless you register your UDID with apple.
I would only recommend you test out iOS 7 Beta and then downgrade to the latest iOS 6 for your device.
I followed the guide below to restore.
July 22nd all unregisterd idevices with ios7 will be disabled
That's impossible
- Will my stuff lost after downloading ios 7 without UDID? I have not download it yet cause i scared something might go wrong like not be able to open my iphone 5 or i will lost all of my precious photos in the phone. Can any of you give me a confirm if you had tried this youtube tutorial and whether it work?
- What's next after UDID registration? So, I've a problem. I paid for the UDID registration and now I don't know what's next because I don't know if I have to go somewhere to download something or if I have to wait some days because I checked on iTunes and it says that my iPhone is updated.
- What do I do after registering my UDID number? I used the website udidregestration.net and I got the confirmation email that it has been registered. I have the iPhone 4 Model A1349, I tried it once and it says that it is not compatible. If anyone can give me a good link to get one of the ios 7 betas (download) it would be much obliged and I will rate you a solid five stars.
- Registering an Apple Developer account for iOS7? I want to install iOS 7 Beta 2 on my iPhone to try out, however I do not trust these £5 UDID registration sites or "free" download methods, so the only option left would be to register officially with Apple as a Developer to ensure security. The £60 price tag for a new OS may seem irrational… But I just can't stand the 6 year out of date iOS6! I'm not sure of the process, however. Upon registering, will iTunes show an automatic update to iOS 7 when I connect my device?
