Will my iphone factory unlock or was i ripped off?

Okay, i have an iphone 4 for att and i got it off craigslist. I went to this phone dealer because he offered factory unlocks for 100 bucks. I paid and he said give it up to an hour max and he guarentees it would be unlocked.yes i have my receipt.nothing has happened. I did everything he told me to do. Is it because today is sunday and the IMEI is just not being processed today, or was i ripped off.serious opinions please i'm so angry.

I think you may have been ripped off.iPhones are usually unlocked via software unlocks like ultrasn0w or hardware unlocks like Gevey SIMs.AT&T nowadays unlock iPhones that are no longer under contract as well.
Never heard of iPhones being unlocked via IMEIs.

If you used a factory unlock service, it usually takes some time for the unlock to be granted. For example it takes 1-10 business days on this site: http://www.fastgsm.com/en/samsung/samsung/solstice-ii/network-unlocker/network-unlock
But this service IS possible and IS working, no matter what the other guy wrote. It just takes some time. But there are also scam sites out there to one must be wary.

I had this happen to me. It took a week for my phone to work. Try syncing it with itunes. That fixed for me. If not then yes you have been ripped off. You could try gevey sim unlock it complicated but works
