Yes, dear they will. Just because you found something - does NOT mean it belongs to you.
You can contact the owner & they may give you a reward or you can give it to the police dept. If they can't find the owner or no one claims it, it will either be turned over to you or sold by the state after a certain period of time depending on state law in regards to unclaimed property. However, the owner of the iphone can be easily found in most cases.
If you give it to the police - the owner may still give you a finders fee.
Think about this -- what if this was YOUR phone & you accidentally lost it. Wouldn't you want your expensive phone back?
