Will the iPhone 5 work on T-Mobile?

I plan to buy the iPhone 5 factory unlocked when it comes out this September. I was wondering if I would be able to use 3G/4G on T-Mobile with it? I understand it will have AWS support but I want to be sure.

No one knows since Apple does not typically pre-announce products and we haven't seen the specs. More importantly, T-Mobile USA would be the one who would announce device compatibility.

Most likely, the next handset will not be called the iPhone 5 anyhow. The fifth-generation device has been on the market for months (since October 2011) under the marketing name iPhone 4S.

You'll have to wait until later this year to see what happens.

It will work as long as the phone will have a sim slot or gsm network. You can go to cellunlocker.net and get the unlock code and unlock the phone in minutes. All of this is if you get the gsm phone, you can't use the cdma such as verizon or sprint.

It depends. If it comes out on tmobile than yes. But if it comes out on att than only 3g will work. Att uses lte as there 4g tecnology and tmobiles 4g is really just a good 3g called hspa+42. Att also used that for alittle but the i5 is rumerd to run lte4g
