Will they divorce? Sorry if this is long, but I'm freaking out?

I'm freaking out right now. My dad got an iPhone, and it did one of those deals where my mom could see his conversation with a buddy at work. His buddy said "you look hot in your uniform" and my mom thinks he's cheating on her. She has a divorce lawyer set in place and everything, but communication is lacking between them severely. My dad thinks it's just one of those deals that will pass, like it usually is. He has no idea my mom has a divorce lawyer in place and what not. She thinks my dad isn't happy with her because he's never home since he has to pay for all of her expensive vacations and student loans, but whenever he calls she never answers. My dad seems perfectly happy when he's with us, but my mom and sister always put him down saying "You're failing at your diet" and what not, so when he gets treated like absolute ****, I really couldn't blame him. But with the type of guy my dad is, I just don't think he could've done it. Any help would be great.

Of course you are upset. A divorce would turn your world upside down. If your parents do divorce, life will be different, but life will go on. It appears that your parents' do have a rift in their marriage. Ideally, they would both stop acting foolish and work on reconciliation. You and your sister don't know the whole story. Perhaps the marriage is beyond help. You seem to have sided with your dad. Why don't you stop judging and just accept your parents as good people who are flawed. Talk to other kids whose parents have divorced. A friend's support is what you need now.

My mother was like that. She always thought my father was having affairs. He just wasn't the type. Didn't have time, anyway! She was paranoid. Never got around to hiring a lawyer, but when she died, he found an account in MY name that she'd been hiding money in for years.
