Will unlocking an iphone 4s increase its value? Or should I restore it? (ATT)?

Restore it. When you unlock a phone it often decreases the value because 1) the service associated with it usually isn't as good as the one it was originally, and 2) people don't want phones that have been broken apart and fixed again.

  • Will unlocking an iPhone 4S change its performance? Will unlocking a phone like jail breaking it? Because I pad a jail broken iPod and eventually it ran really slow, I don't want that happening with this phone.
  • Will iPhone 5s gold retain its value couple years later? I wanted to get the Grey 5s but I can tell that gold is getting enormously popular. Considering that I will be selling my 5s couple years later when I upgrade my phone again, should I get the gold even tho I like grey more than gold? Do you think gold 5s will lose its popularity by then?
  • Will factory unlocking my iPhone break its contract with my service provider? I bought the iPhone 5 for $199.It's on contract, so it's not only locked to AT&T for two years, but I'm required to pay monthly for the use of this phone for two years. I'm interested in buying the factory unlock on ebay, but I want to know if the contract is going to break with AT&T.
