Will updating to ios 6.1 delete everything?
I wanna update my iphone 4s to ios 6.1 and i wanna update it from my phone does it delete my apps? I don't have any backup for my apps.
Well first off iOS 6.1 is in Beta form right now, therefore you would have to be a developer to use it. But I'm assuming you are referring to downloading iOS 6.0.1 update. To which this update will NOT cause data loss. It is an in-place update of the iOS.
BUT - I would still highly recommend that you backup your iPhone regularly.
- Would updating the software on my iPhone (4s) delete everything off it? So I just got a notification to my phone that said new software update. I clicked close because I didn't know wheather it would delete everything off my phone. But if I do update my software, will everything be deleted off of it?
- Will updating to iOS 7 delete text messages? I know I'm late updating and all but I haven't had this phone long, since I replaced my old one, but I have an iPhone 4 and I'm planning on updating to the iOS 7.0.4 that is available. I have text messages that I've kept for a while because of information or I'm too sentimental for some to get rid of them (yeah, judge me) but I don't know if updating now will delete those (I'm hoping not). Also, will it delete my contacts? I hear it has for some people.
- Will updating to iOS 7 delete everything if I don't backup my storage to iCloud? I have about 4.8GB left of storage in my iPhone 5 left but iCloud is acting up and it's saying there's no space to back everything up. What should I do? Should I still update to iOS7? It's stressing me out and I don't wanna risk anything being deleted.
- Will updating to iOS 7.1.2 delete anything? I have a iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1.1. I need to update it to iOS 7.1.2 because apps are beginning to crash. I'm worried that the update will delete my stuff, especially my contacts and my photos. I have backed up on iTunes but I'm not sure if this includes photos and contacts.
