Will Verizon still give me an upgrade?
I'm due for an upgrade and I'm on a Verizon plan with my dad and sister. I'm 17 and now beginning to pay for my own phone bill, but I wanna switch to straight talk prepaid for 45$ a month. The problem is, I want an iPhone and I don't have one. Will I have to buy an iPhone at full price at Walmart? Or will Verizon still give me my upgrade even if I'm going to leave their plan the next day?
Call Verizon and ask customer service which the best option for you will be.
Remember of you go with Walmart, even though you will have a Verizon plan, your customer service and insurance (if you get it), will be through Walmart Wireless. This will effectively lock you into two contracts, Verizon's plan and Walmart's 2 year contract and both companies ETF's for non payment phone/services or trying to leave before the end of the 2 years (which pays off the phone).
First of all, you are 17 years old and so you are not the account holder for the Verizon account. Second of all, if you decide you want to stay with Verizon and upgrade then your dad has to be present for you to upgrade your line to a new iphone. Yes you do have to renew your 2 year contract with them. They will not let you upgrade to a iphone and decide to cancel the next day. You will owe for the cost of the phone and termination fees.
If you go with Walmart and sign up with straight talk then yes you do have to purchase the iphone at full cost at walmart.

You can sign up for a contract on Verizon and get the iPhone 6 at discounted price which is $199 for 16GB or $299 for iPhone 6+ or $99 for iPhone 5S. You'll also have to pay $36 as Activation Fee. Now, you can cancel your contract but you've to pay $80 for one month and $350 as Early Termination Fee. TAX is extra if applicable. Now calculate how much it comes to and if it's worth the hassle. You can get your desired iPhone unlocked at much lesser price than the retail so paying the retail at Walmart is also not recommended if saving is intended. - Will Verizon give me an early upgrade? I have recently gotten into a wreck and lost my phone. My upgrade is in February and I would like an Iphone 4 or 4S. I have been in contract for more than a year. Do you think theywould allow? Possibly even in December?
- When you give APPLE a defective IPHON do they give you a reconditioned one back? My IPHONE had a defect, still under warranty, so I took it to an Apple MAC store and after a few days they gave it back, supposedly repaired. Now the replaced IPHONE has a problem, different than the previous problem I'm now having a problem with the taking a photo. Do they just replace your phone with a reconditioned one they say no but?
- Verizon upgrade date? Any way to upgrade early? So today I went to the Verizon store to get the new iPhone 6. It came to 399, and everything was cool. But then, they realized I couldn't upgrade phones until March of 2016, and that if I still wanted the phone, it would come too around 800 dollars. So I was like yeah no thanks, and I left, all bummed out. So I was wondering if there's any way I could get the iPhone but, not for that outrageous price?
- T Mobile or Verizon. Should I pay T-Mobile 175.00 for an upgrade or 94.00 to Verizon for new phone? I want the iPhone 6s plus. I'm already with t mobile but there internet is a bit slow sometimes. Its the jump plan ill get. Ill pay 12.00 for 24 mo. And if i get a new phone they won't run my credit again. But with verizon they'll run my credit. Is pretty good. But i don't want anybody to really run my credit tho lower it. I'm not sure about verizon internet but the commercials looks pretty good. They bboth have unlimited internet. What should I do?
