Will waterproof iPhone pouches work?

So I'm going to a hotel with my friends in 2 days and I want to be able to take pictures in the pool. I would buy a real waterproof case like from Otterbox, but they're expensive and my parents wouldn't buy it and I don't have time to go anyways. So I was thinking of just buying one at the hotel, if they have any though, but if they do, would they protect my phone? The pools there aren't even that deep. The deepest pool they have there's about 5-6 feet. So would you think?

Basically all a waterproof pouch is, is a heavy duty ziplock bag. But I would NOT use ziplock bags to take pictures in a pool. So use the pouches made for protecting cameras and phones and then only for as long as it takes to take the picture. Check a camera shops or a Walmart, Target or sometimes 7-11's will have them in beach towns.

Best thing to do when in the pool, is to leave your phone in the hotel room or safe, or with the person that is not going to get into the pool.

Most people can deal with not having their phone with them 24/7, to enjoy themselves.

Waterproof puches will work, but you won't be able to use your phone while it is in the pouch. IF you want phone use, get either the waterproof otter box or the lifeproof case. Alternativly, cheap waterproof cameras are a great option for higher image quality and water resistance.
