Will you lose your data if you replace a screen on the iPhone 4?

Not unless something goes terribly wrong. I paid $70 to mail my kid's 3 off to have the glass replaced. Nothing happened to his data.
If you take it to the apple store backup your phone as they usually just give you a refurbished phone if they are in stock
