Windows 7 is unable to connect to Wi-Fi?

My windows 7, ASUS notebook recently stopped connecting to my Wi-Fi. Once i put in the password it comes up with a message "Windows is unable to connect to (my networks name)". I tried clicking on "troubleshoot problems" but that comes back with "Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem". All my other devices including iphone, ipad and 2 other laptops successfully connect to the network with out any problems. I have tried reformatting my laptop but that didn't work. I have also tried uninstalling my wireless adaptor driver from my laptop, then reinstalling it. I can successfully connect via ethernet cable but not through wireless connection.

Connect Your Laptop by using a cable (plug it into the router and then to laptop). Go to Your Router, and look for ip address on it, there should be a sticker with it, type ip address (in some cases it can be a website address) into Your browser, type password and login that is on the router (also on sticker). Your should be on your router options. Now You can try to change Your Wi-Fi password, try to connect without the cable if nto working then look for the reset button on the router. Reset Your router. Go and try to make a new Wi-Fi connection once again (set up a new password as well). If not working then plug Your laptop into router again and try to download new Wi-Fi drivers.

At this point you've done what most people would do. The (Wi-Fi card inside the laptop) unit is broken, replace it.

Re-install the Wi-Fi driver or update it

You can try by forgeting this network and the try connecting again. Also try changing your SSID and network key otherwise you have to perform following steps: Try changing your Wi-Fi broadcasting channel. Open up your router's setup by entering the default gateway IP, enter username password if prompted ->go to Wi-Fi or Wireless Lan setting and make sure that broadcasting is b/g/n mixed mode, then check what broadcasting channel is selected starting from 1 to 11/13, in case of extreme start or end make in middle like 6 or 7 and in case of any middle number like 6 to 8 make it either 10 or 3.

  • Windows was unable to connect to thomson router? I accidentally turned my router off today for about 10 minutes (Thomson TG585 v7) and now I can't connect with any device at all, ipad, iphone, laptop, ps3 etc. I've gone through all of the settings in the router to try and configure it but nothing I do works. I've had this problem many times in the past but it comes back on and things can connect again… Sometimes, it's just unpredictable.
  • Unable to connect to iTunes Store? (Version 10.7)? Hi, I need help on how to connect to the iTunes Store with the 10.7 version. I've tried literally EVERYTHING, and I've even contacted Apple (they were of little help). The error code on it was -3212, does anyone know what that means? :/ Oh yeah, and yesterday I just got a new iPhone 4. Also, how can I transfer music and apps from an iPod Touch 4th generation to an iPhone 4?
  • Unable to connect to iTunes on certain devices? When I try to connect to my iTunes account on my iPod or my PC, it doesn't work. On the PC, it gives me error message 50 and says a network connection can't be established. On the iPod it just says "can't connect to iTunes store". I tried to connect my other iPhone and my iPad to the same account, and they worked fine. I know my internet is working. What's the problem and how do I fix it?
