Worth it to buy iPhone 5 NOT 5s?
Basically, is it worth waiting maybe a year for the iPhone 6, or should I just pick up the 5 when the price drops? OR is the 5s really that amazing and worth all the extra cash? (keep in mind that i have no phone upgrade for two years). I'm up to date on all the specs for each device, I'm just not quite sure what the logical move is…
Added (1). And that brings up a good point, I'm NOT OKAY WITH THE TOUCH ID. I'm not a conspiracy theorist at all, but logically, it seems very uncomfortable to have fingerprint scanner on my phone. Is there a way to have the 5s without EVER turning on or setting up the scanner?
Want all your calls and text msgs and data transfers tracked by the NSA? Buy an iPhone.
The iPhone 5 is no longer for sale. They are going to sell the 5C instead of lowering the price for the 5. Its a good phone the 5C.
EDIT, you do not have to use or setup the fingerprint scanner on the 5S.
The logical move is to get the phone that does what you want and costs no more than your kind to pay. Your question illogically omits both details.
The 5S hardware is twice as fast and is 64bit (and thats the only 64bit smartphone on the market today). It also has the aluminum casing, is a little larger (like 5) and fingerprint scanner which is what I like. I also like that you don't even press the home button (won't wear it out) as the fingerprint is automatically recognized when you just put it over it. You can get 5C for $99 on contract though so thats cheaper. I'm getting 5S.
Basically I think it would be better to buy iPhone 5S or 5C, cause as you probably know, the upgrades like G, GS, S, C don't have the flaws that the previous version did have! So I think even when iPhone6 is out, you'd probably want to wait for the upgrade on that!
…
About that Touch ID, OF COURSE you are gonna be able to disable it, I don't work at apple but I do know that they are not that stupid, not to think about people who will lose their finger or stuff like that like getting scars on your finger tip.
… I'd be glad if you would answer my question about 5S's new colors!
The 5 is discontinued as of yesterday. If the 5s's features are appealing to you then by all means get that, but if you think of the 6 being better, & there's no reason why it wouldn't be then wait for that.
I don't see the problem with the scanner on the phone. The scans are not sent to Apple nor stored anywhere. Its simply there for security & convenience, but yes I would imagine its use is optional, not mandatory.
