Would a 10x telephoto lens be any good to take photos of the moon on an iPhone?
Would a 10x telephoto lens be any good to take photos of the moon on an iPhone?
A 300X Telescope would be better! (That is with a built in option to shoot photos)
A 1.5 Trilllion is the best of better It is like your on the moon.
Better than nothing, … But not much. Someday maybe people will learn that a telephone is NOT a proper camera.
The iphone has an equivalent 35mm camera focal length around 30mm (depends on model). 10x will make it 300mm. The moon will fill about 1/8 of the frame. That's usable if cropped, but won't be very good. The other issue is getting the proper exposure. If the iphone has exposure compensation, you may be able to pull this off, but you'll probably still have an overexposed image which means the details will be washed out.
No
It will help to magnify the image of the Moon, but it will almost certainly not give you a good picture such as you would get in using a proper camera such as a DSLR or CSC with all the controls available on such cameras.
None of those "adapters", especially those with large magnification such as 10x, gives good optical performance, and the sensor in any mobile phone is physically tiny, no matter how many megapixels they cram in to it in order to have a large number as a sales gimmick.
No. The moon will appear like a small circle because your cell 'phone "camera" is not manufactured like a DSLR where you can change lenses to suit the situation/object/subject to be photographed. You need the right tool(s) for the job to be performed, and, alas, that AIN'T always inexpensive.
No.

- Would this iphone lens be allowed in no-cam concerts? I'm going to kanye wests concert tomorrow and it says so cameras on the ticket. but I was wondering if a lens like this would be allowed in the concert but i'm pretty sure its all made out of plastic so I could probably hide it? will security wands detect it?
- What's a good iphone lens to get? As a gift for a friend who likes to take photos I want to get one of those lenses that you can attach to your iphone to enhance it but I really don't know which to get! Which would you find more useful - fisheye, wide lense, macro? I don't want to spend too much, can anyone point me in the right direction of which brand or model I should be looking at.cheers! Oh and it's for an iphone 4s
- Sun and Moon not in the right place on sky guide app for iphone? I have checked the time on my settings and that is correct, but during the day the sun is shown on the other side of the world, and the moon is up and vice versa. Any ideas what's going on? Not life or death, just curious.
