Would a bad esn version iPhone be able to be activated with simple mobile?
So I want to buy a iPhone 5 and I saw one on eBay for Verizon but it has bad esn like now Verizon has its iPhone 5 unlocked but if it has bad esn would I be able to activate it?
Added (1). The iPhone 5 for Verizon is factory unlocked which allows you to connect to gsm which is what simple mobile is
No. A phone with a bad ESN can't be reactivated with the company that originally sold the phone.
Simple Mobile uses GSM phones, Verizon phones are CDMA. A Verizon phone will not work on the Simple Mobile network.
A phone can have a bad ESN for 2 reasons. The phone was reported lost or stolen or the phone will was never paid in full. If the phone was reported lost or stolen it can never be used again for the company that originally sold the phone. If the phone has an outstanding bill, you will have to pay the bill off to use the phone. In most cases the outstanding bill for the phone is more than the worth of the phone.
