Would a virgin sim work on a EE iphone 4?

I want a virgin contract sim and i was considering switching my phone to a virgin locked iphone however i was looking on ebay and most of them say t-mobile/orange/virgin. Does this mean that a virgin sim will work on my iphone 4

Depends if the phone is unlocked. You can get it done at a phone stall. Its not illegal

Plus, he says it's brand new, but he doesn't have the box or accessories the phone comes with.So, it seems a little "fishy" if he would make the purchase and use a different SIM would it work? If it does work, is there any way he can get in trouble by having it or can it be tracked?
