Would it be ok if I connect my iPhone via usb to my internet router?
My router is right by my bed and it would be a good power source for my phone to charge on. But is this ok to do?
Providing the phone is turned off, then this should be fine. As the phone will not have the appropriate USB drivers to work with the router, it may do strange things if it is connected when the phone is turned on.
- Turn iPhone into as it were an internet router via USB? Is it possible to use your iPhone as if it were to be an internet router, using a computer's internet connection instead of 3G/4G data? I don't have a data plan, and usually I'm in a place without a hotspot nearby.

- IPhone won't connect using hotspot via USB? I have an iPhone 4 and an acer aspire 5610Z using windows vista. I have mobile hotspot enabled on my phone but my Wi-Fi is greyed out and I don't have Bluetooth on my pc leaving me only with the option of USB. Problem is, even though my phone says it is discoverable via USB, my computer doesn't have it in the network connections options. Please help. My other computer crashed and I desperately need this one for school! And I do not know how to message people from here…
- Internet via iPhone's Personal Hotspot vs Cable Internet? I currently have a data plan with unlimited 4G data with my phone carrier. I can share its cellular connection with my desktop at home which has been working out great even for streaming videos. Is there any reason we should still buy Internet service from an Internet service provider like Comcast, when all I have to do is use the Internet connection from my phone carrier? What are the advantages?
