Wrong cellular data usage shown for iPhone 5c?

On the 18th, my bill renewed so my data was set back to 0. However, when I go into settings and look at my cellular usage, it hasn't reset and it's still counting off from last month. It says I'm at 1.6 GB. When I look at My Verizon app though, it did reset and says I'm at 0.191 GB.

Why is it doing this? I have the iPhone 5c and the latest update.

Also, when I bought the phone the salesman said I would receive texts at 50% and 95% of my usage period; but I never received a text at 50%.

The iphone counter has to be reset, it can't guess when your billing cycle ends, but it's easier just to use your carriers app.

You should use Verizon's app. The setting on your phone is only an estimate as measured by the phone. Verizon's info is what you'll be billed for regardless. There's a place in the settings where you can set your usage cycle on Android phones >> honestly not sure about IOS7.

The salesman *used* to be correct. VZW was receiving a lot of complaints about the number of alerts they were sending out so they made the 50% alert an opt-in >> you can set that through your My Verizon account at vzw.com if you want it turned on. The 75%, 90% & 100% are all automatic though.
