Your experience with the iPhone 5's 8 megapixel Camera?

I have been tinkering around for about a week with this camera and I wanted to get some feedback on what people's thoughts where in terms of the quality of the photographs. I personally think it is a major step up from the 5 megapixel camera, but yet again is it on par with most handheld digital cameras or is there room for improvement?

Here are some photographs taken with the iPhone 5 http://jasonspictureblog.blogspot.com/

Megapixel count does not mean a good image, but the camera on the iPhone 5 does have some improvements over the 4S and past models. Slightly less noise and better low light performance over the 4S, and an increased shutter speed was all that I got from testing the camera. All in all, you shouldn't even be trying to take professional photos with an iPhone anyways.

It will take good photos, but a cellphone will never be on par with a good digital camera as a good digital camear will have a big lens that includes zoom and filtering too (not digital zoom which is worthless). Cellphones will never have that capability unless it has a big lens attached on it.

Meh i didn't like it
I used my friends and in good light its pretty good but at night it doesn't look good or get everything. Also its really overused on instagram lol

i use either my DSLR or my normal cell phone camera. Its lower quality but it still gets everything (like fog or sun flares)
