1GB data.iPhone is this enough?
So I'm getting an iPhone and was wondering whether the dolphin package from orange will be enough to support what I do.
I could get the £10/month (400 free texts, plus 1GB data) or £15/month one (600 free texts, plus 2GB data).
It's the data I'm asking about, do you think 1 or 2 GB is enough? I'll use it for facebook for maybe an hour per day max, skype (just message chat), checking emails and a bit of general browsing. But I'd use my laptop for all of my online stuff when I'm at home, it'd just be when I'm out and about. So it'd total to maybe 1.5-2 hours a day maximum.

Well, I went on holiday last month. I'm on 3 in the UK and have totally unlimited data, so never have to worry about it. I got a package which had 1GB for use on my iPhone 4S. By the end of the week (light browsing, sending the odd photo etc) I had 110mb left. I couldn't survive on 1 or 2GB, I'd want unlimited so I knew I'd never go over. It's up to you though. If you want a great phone like the iPhone and to spend all your time worrying how much data you're using, then take a 1/2GB plan.
Defiitely go with 2GB to be on the safe side. It's only £5 more and you get extra texts too. I use the Internet on my iPhone about the same amount as you say you will, and 3/4 through my month I used like 1.8GB
Start small, you can always increase as you see necessary.
I'm the same as one other answer, i'm on 3network with unlimited internet, and i think you need it to. On an 02 phone i was using i got through 500mb in a couple of days hardly using the phone. So to answer your question, out of your 2 choices go for the 2GB data one.
- Would 1gb of data be enough for the iphone 4s? I plan on getting the 1gb of data per month and wondering if it would be enough for me because i don't want to go over and pay loads of money. I would be on twitter, instagram and snapchat mostly, but connecting to Wi-Fi when available. Also should i turn my data off everytime i can connect to Wi-Fi to save data or will it not be used when connected to Wi-Fi? When should i turn data off.
- Will 1GB of data a month be enough for an iPhone? I'm thinking of getting an iPhone, but only the small plan, which has only 1GB of data a month. The only thing I go on the internet for on my phone is Facebook. Will it be enough data? Or will it be constantly looking for updates and stuff and use internet data? My old phone did that and took away heaps.
- Is 1GB of data enough on an IPhone 4s? So next weekend I'm getting an IPhone 4s on contract. Thing is, I don't know how much data I should get… I know I'm going to be using a lot of internet, but only for things like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Google. I won't really be watching videos. I will be using the internet when I go out, though. Do you think that's enough? X
- Is 1GB of data enough for me? I'm getting an iPhone so I will mainly be using Facebook and Twitter apps, and occasionally searching on Google. I browse Facebook and Twitter every hour or two hours depending on where I'm, and search Google once a day or once every two days. When I'm at home, I will connect to the Wi-Fi. I will get a 1GB internet data allowance per month: is this enough for my daily internet needs?
