Are these good gifts from my children? - 1

In an earlier question, I asked what to get my two daughters for Christmas on a tight budget of $100 (spending $50 each on them.) We're poor and we live paycheck to paycheck so that is the best I could do plus this is the first time in 5 years that I bought them gifts on a special occasion since we could never afford it.

My daughter Lexi (age 14): She has a babysitting job every Saturday and has saved up to buy herself an Iphone 5 so we aren't going to buy her a cellphone. Even though we're poor, she likes to dress well and keep herself looking good by wearing makeup and getting her nails done. She loves clothes and shoes but doesn't have much; about 10 short sleeves, 8 long sleeves, 3 blue jeans, 2 jackets, 2 yoga pants, 2 skirts, 3 dresses, 2 cardigans, 1 hoodie, 2 pairs of boots brown and black, one pair of knock off converses, and 2 pairs of sandals. We usually get clothes and shoes at yard sales but we want to look for nice but cheap clothes at thrift shops but I don't know where to look. She loves to read books and is very artistic and creative and loves to create DYI projects and draw/paint.
My daughter Jessie (age 6): Jessie: She loves clothes as well and has the about the same amount of clothes as her sister. I wanna look for some cheap but pretty clothes for her too. She loves to play with baby dolls and barbies but only has about 2 baby dolls and 1 barbie and 1 ken and really wants some kind of barbie house. She also loves to read and enjoys playing house and outside.
I got Lexi: Twilight and Harry Potter Series. She hasn't read those yet. 4 Hollister sweaters, 4 Hollister short sleeves, 2 jeans, and a pair of grey boots. A drawing set with a sketch pad and a bunch of makeup from dollar store.
I got Jessie: Some clothes from thrift store, a Barbie dream house with a Barbie and Ken, a house that you can set up outside that I got donated to me from the church and some baby dolls and a baby doll high chair and a baby doll set with fake baby food, bib, and bottles.
Are these good gifts? Surprisingly, I have about $10 left over to buy for them so any other extra gifts advice I could get for them would be nice!

You could buy them some movies.
Buy Lexi the first Harry Potter movie and Jessie one of the many Barbie movies (If she likes princesses, you can get her Barbie as Rapunzel. If she likes fairies, Barbie: Fairytopia. Or a Christmas movie: Barbie in the Nutcracker.)

Merry Christmas to you and your children!

Is that all, you tightwad?

Those are great gifts! I'm a 14 year old girl and he presents you got Lexi sound great. And for Jessies I would have loved those things at her age.

With the left over $10 you could buy Lexi and phone case and buy some barbie clothes for Jessie.
Also you can always make barbie clothes for Jessie thats why my mum would do for us.

You've bought them enough! Amazing how far $50--or $40--will go with some use of the imagination!

I think that the gifts you have got them are fine and fun.

As for the other $10--well, you don't have to spend X amount of dollars on your kids to prove that you love them. Put that money toward Christmas dinner. Or get a nice treat for yourself (or for your spouse if you have one).

If you haven't read the short story "The Gift of the Magi" by O. Henry, please do, and share it with your kids. You might also watch the TV movie The Homecoming, a Christmas story that was the pilot for the TV show The Waltons.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

You did good! Moms always do ;-) It's easy to get stuff for girls at any age esoecially if they are not picky. For Lexie you can get her LA Colors make-up kit, lipgloss, lipstick, nail polish at the dollar store or a nice scarf, hat or gloves. For Jessie, puzzles, fuzzy socks, gloves, sunglasses, pj set, ccoloring books.

  • Should I tell my grandma that I don't want or like any of my gifts? I got a snickers bar, I Giants World Series T-Shirt, a huge expensive Cutting Board, An Anatomy coloring book for class. All I wanted was an IPad 3 and 27" Inch Mac Pro. And IPhone 5. Not hard. And she has MONEY. I can't stand cheap *** people. None of this crap I want. Cutting board was over $150 bucks. This things is 40 pounds of wood. But I wanted 40 pounds of computer parts.
  • If you could have ANY of these Christmas gifts which would you choose? IPad An iPhone or other smartphone A home theater system a smart tv Tickets to see your favorite sports team Tickets to see your favorite CURRENT singer / group an appearance on your favorite reality show A top notch camera A guest appearance on the Dr Phil show A weekend at the Playboy mansion
  • I can't use any of my christmas gifts? I'm unable to use any of my christmas presents. I got an iphone case and I don't have an iphone. I got a bunch of nail polish but I can't have my nails painted at work (I work full time). I also got peanut butter candy and I have a peanut allergy. I don't want to offend my mom by not using it but I literally can't and there's no receipt. Usually if I don't like something ill use it only around the person who gave it to me to be nice. What am I supposed to do?
  • How about this Christmas Gifts? Christmas is coming, I plan to buy some Christmas Gifts for my family and friends, I think the iPhone case is a best choice, so I found this one, how about this one? It is a new arrival~ http://www.icase-zone.com/2013-new-cambon-tpu-case-for-iphone-55s-p-726.html
