They won't erase your data.
You might not get the option to do so, just depends on if they just repair the screen or end up having to replace the entire phone.
This sometimes happens because something else broke inside that can't be fixed. This is why you should always pick one night a week to do the backup over night, while you sleep.
You should be doing that before sending it off & then restore from that backup once you get it back.
