Buying used Iphone - should i get 5 or 5c?

So, IIm looking into buying a used Iphone, and I've been looking at the Iphone 5 and 5c (both with 16gb), but I can't figure out which is better - the Iphone 5 is alot cheaper though. My current Iphone i a 3s (I know. Ancient), and for a while, I haven't been able to update the software, and more and more apps are becoming unusable. IIm afraid that if I buy an Iphone 5 rather than a 5c, this will happen again soon - any advice?
Apple experts, which would you choose?

Because (as rumors have it) a new iPhone is going to come out this year, the 5s should be free with a 2 year contract. Or, the iPhone 6 (which I have) and it's going to be a reduced price to maybe instead of 199, it's going to be $99. If you aren't planning to buying any of those, I'm not sure whether you would like the 5c as it does look like the iPod 5th gen and it's plastic. With the 5 on the other hand, it's more classy (really does depend on your age and what kind of phone you want). If it was me, I would just go with anything between 5c/5s and higher if you want to get software updates for a while.

Simple, The 5 is a better and faster phone than the 5C.

Its just the color the iphone 5 looks a lot cooler to me. The iphone 5c is somewhat newer but not better in anyway. I would convince you to buy the iphone 5s but thats a little pricey, i have the iphone 5 and i love it, my friend has the ipone 5c and its the same as mine its just colored. If your going to get a new phone and you don't care what it looks like just go with anything, but the iphone 5 and the iphone 5c are the same. One is just a few months newer. But that dosent really matter

Just go with the one that you like the design of better. Otherwise, they are almost exactly identical but I would give the edge to the iPhone 5.

Are you getting a new contract? Get 5C free on contract, thats what I would do or better yet go with iphone 5S which I have seen for $50 on contract.
