Can a non-iPhone contract and SIM card be used in an iPhone 5s?

The phone has nothing to do with the contract, you can use PAYG or contract SIMs in every phone as long as it is unlocked to the SIM cards network.
- Will I be able to transfer my contract from a regular Sim card to a Micro Sim card? I want to buy an iPhone 4S on T-mobile, but my current T-mobile sim card is a regular one that would not fit in to the iPhone 4S. Would I be able to somehow move my contract on to the new Micro Sim?
- What happens if I put the SIM card of a non smartphone into and iPhone? I use AT&T and I have an HTC but it isn't a smart phone. So if I cut the SIM card into a nano SIM card, which is used for iPhones, and put it in an iPhone 4S, will the phone work? Also I do not use data on my phone, only texting and calling and I'm not telling the AT&T people because they would make me get an iPhone which I can't do until my contract ends next year or ill have to pay 300 dollars.
