Can a water damaged iPhone 3GS be fixed?

A few weeks ago my mother unfortunately dropped her iPhone 3GS in the toilet, It still worked but it just did random functions. So I ordered an opening kit and a new battery, replaced it and it didn't turn on after that. So if i took it to my local phone repair shop do you recon they would be able to fix it?

Probly not, all of the components are surface mount and there are hundreds of tiny integrated circuits and tracks. Its cheaper to replace the phone.

I don't think so. 3GS is kinda obselete. You may just want to get a 4 or 4s

I don't think so. But if you go to a good and reliable cellphone shop, it might be fix.

Its unlikely… However my friend dropped her iphone in the bath and put it in a bag of rice and two days later it worked as the rice absorbed any of the moisture… That may be complete luck but worth a try

The phone still works, I'm getting texts and alerts, but the screen won't work. I can see everything but the touch screen isn't working. I can't even slide it to unlock it.
