Can an Iphone4 be used without a data plan?
I have an extra Iphone in a drawer and wanted to use it solely for text and talk. Will prepaid unlimited talk & text without data minutes work? I will never use the data functions of the phone. No Fb, twitter, GPS, etc. Just talk & text.
Can't get a plan or card or account on any smartphone without data--period. Besides, to text it takes cell data or Wi-Fi--not way around it. That's how they make their money. You can use Wi-Fi for all of those things anyway. All lot of prepaid plans have decent deals on long talk times decent text package and a bare bones data plan. Try to opt for that. Best luck.
You don't need a data plan for text and talk. You can go Pay as you go.

No. Once it is detected on the network a data plan would be applied.

- When IPhone app isn't launced is my data plan still being used? I have apps like Facebook, Twitter, & Photobucket that I keep logged in so as soon as I launch the app it's where I want it. Is the data plan still in use? What about the iphone Mail app that's kept on as well?

- If i buy a used iphone from someone do i still have to get a data plan? My phone from verizon broke and the contract isn't up yet… So if i buy an iphone from someone can it just go onto my regular contract? Or do i need to buy a data plan too? WOW GIVE ME REAL ANSWERS NOT ADVERTISING ;-;
