Can I buy out of my Verizon contract and get a new Verizon contract?

I'm thinking of switching over to an iphone. I do not have an upgrade until about a year from now. However, the phone I have now is junky and I'm not willing to wait another year (It has been 6 months since I wanted to change phones, so I've been thinking a lot about this). It is cheaper for me to buy out of my Verizon contract and sign up with a new contract and get the cheaper deal on an Iphone. BUT. I really do like Verizon (despite how costly it is). I've found it to be the most reliable phone carrier. I would want another Verizon contract. I'm not sure if this would be possible to end my contract and start a new one with the same company. It just doesn't make sense for me to buy the outright cost of the Iphone when it would be cheaper for me to cancel my contract get a new contract. Any thoughts?

I think that this information is the only reliable info. Check it out:

If you are a customer in good standing this might work. Can't see why not if you are going to throw stacks of cash at them. But make sure your math is right. You'll pay the ETF plus any outstanding balance on the account. That could easily be $350 or more. Note also that you most likely won't get your same plan back as I'm willing to bet it's no longer offered. Throw in $199 for a new 16gb 6 and the connect fee and you're already at roughly $575. That's only about $70-75 away from buying an unlocked 6 from the Applestore and a lot of work to save those coins. Your phone, your choice. Best luck.
