If you just bought a new verizon update on a 2year contract But you want a new one?
So i just got an iphone 4s a few months ago but now i want the 5s would i have to pay for the phone phone and an update cost or just the phone or also just the update Please Help ME I NEED TO NOW RIGHT NOW!
In most cases you have a 2 or four week window to return the phone or exchange it for another one. You should check on this option for your plan and phone.
I don't use contracts anymore. I had Verizon before it was bad service. I'm sure they will make you pay to convert to a different contract. I have wonderful coverage with my phone coast to coast with Consumer Cellular.com

You would have to pay full retail for the phone and to activate the phone.
I'm assuming that you got the 4s a few months back because you simply couldn't wait for the new iPhone nor fford the 5. Personally, I would just stick it out with the iPhone you've got.
