Can I change my number from an existing contract to a new one? O2?

I have a blackberry on contract but I have just got a new iPhone contract - I plan to give the blackberry one to my mum as she pays for it anyway and I wanted the independence of having my own. Anyway, I want to keep my number from the blackberry and use it on my iphone but I'm not sure if its possible because the blackberry contract is still running - is this possible? I went to O2 to ask but the girl was thicker than two planks of wood and didn't understand my question - thanks

I like O2 I breathe the stuff daily so it would have been nice if you could have asked the question without the character assassination of someone who is NOT here to defend themselves

That is me
I note from the other question IP4

So linking both questions IMO

IP4 worst possible selection, it is 3 years old and will be DISCONTINUED later this year, in 2013.
On 12/09/2012 Apple releases IP5 drops IP 3GS

In 2013 releases IP6 drops… IP4
Are there any other 3 year old phone being offered? It may be the most affordable "iPhone" now but many are starting contract now for this "moribund" phone which will be 5 year since launched when they finish it in 2015, albeit new 8GB non expandable single core

The iPhone4 distinction is that it was the first iPhone to have camera flash! 2010

iPhones are just overpriced and because you pay more for an iphone it does NOT mean you are getting the same, clearly you are getting much less.

The price paid or tariffs commanded (no demanded) by iPhones… On any every network defy logic and gravity!

re this question NO as the number is live and "linked" to the contract.porting effectively ends the contract so if you wanted the number you would have pay All the remaining instalments.

If you have gone for the iPhone 5 you should note it is NOT 4G ready it is ONLY 4G LTE on EE as All IP5 have just one 4G LTE band the 1800Mhz so all IP5 will be 3G if not on EE.

With the exception of Apple everybody else is producing 4G LTE ready phones! So eg Lumia 920 BB Z10, xPeria Z SGS III LTE if unlocked will be 4G LTE on ANY /ALL UK NETWORKS

If you want an 4G LTE ready Iphone it will be the iPhone 6

I guess that why Apple have $100 billion+ Profit in cash.
