Can I upgrade even though my contract isn't over yet?

My phone is so broken, but I don't want to get a replacement because my contract ends in 21 days. It doesn't seem like a long time, but my phone has been difficult to use since September, and has gotten especially worse in the last month or so.

I have Verizon and my phone is a Samsung Stratosphere. I want to get an iPhone 5c. If I can't yet it's not a big deal considering I'm only waiting another 21 days, but it's becoming almost unbearable.

Any information is helpful.

If you are staying with Verizon, you can try going to the Verizon store and talking to them. You may be able to get something ordered early because of your circumstances. I think it is worth a try at least.

~~good luck to you

In the UK we're offered an new phone 30 days early anyway. You shouldn't have any problems upgrading. Please consider the fact that the iPhone 5C is an plastic iPhone 5 reshaped so Apple can recycle a device that's already 1 year old and keep charge you a fortune for it. I'm not against Apple- I'm typing this out on my iPad Air… But please… Get the 5s and pay the little bit more… If you haggled it might well be the same price as the iPhone 5C…

Why can't you just wait 21 days? They won't let you upgrade before the end of your contract as that is what determines your upgrade date. I can definitely understand wanting the 5c though because I have it to, and on Verizon as well. What is wrong with the phone that makes it broken? I once had a flip phone that I had to hold together every time I opened it and my carrier wouldnt upgrade me even a week before, but that wasn't with Verizon. If it needs troubleshooting or is under warranty than can go over replacement options over the phone or in the store with you, however 3 weeks early is highly unlikely.

  • Why isn't the Wi-Fi on my iPhone 4 working, even though the signal is strong? It worked this morning. It worked when I went out for lunch (Starbucks has free Wi-Fi, duh.). And it worked when I went shopping (at Target. However, when I came back home around late afternoon it stopped working. I have Wi-Fi in my house, and even when the signal is strong, it just keep loading it. No usual checkmark that shows it works. The Wi-Fi works fine on my brother's 3DS and we already checked the home computer router. I just don't know what's wrong.
  • Why did i go over my data even though i had it off I have an iPhone 5 with a 300mb data plan on AT&T, and i noticed i was almost going to go over it (i had 297 of 300mb) so i turned off my cellular usage off in the settings and just used my home Wi-Fi. But today i woke up and i got a message from AT&T saying that i had gone over my limit by 7mb! WHY? I had it off and never turned it on… Also, What happens if i go over my data?
  • When traveling, can I buy a SIM card to my iphone even though I'm still on a contract? I'm traveling soon. I have verizon and their roaming service is very expensive. I was wondering if once I get to my destination country, can I buy a SIM card so that I can be able to obtain phone service while on my trip? If not, My iphone is still under contract, if I get my phone unlocked, then buy a SIM card, would that also be a problem?
  • Is there a way I can switch to Verizon edge even though my 2-year contract isn't up? My poor iPhone 5c has a cracked screen and some of the letters are really hard to use with the screen! I never got Applecare or any type of I've had my iPhone for a 18months (1year & 5months) and I was wondering is it an option to upgrade early and participate with Verizon edge plan even though my two year contract isn't up? I've heard of something called the early edge and is that still available with Verizon or no? (Please NO RUDE COMMENTS!)
