Can you buy an unlocked iPhone 5s in America and use it in Ireland?
I'm hoping to buy an unlocked iPhone and was wondering if I could buy one over in America and use it over in Ireland, I live in Ireland and would use it over here like a normal mobile phone!
Is this possible or will I run into difficulty over in Ireland? I'm with vodafone and hope to stay with them! I don't no much about (GSM OR IIRC) so try and explane a little easier.
The iphone 5s seems to have a lot of the 2G and 3G bands which are also used in Ireland, so I don't see why not. Presuming it really is unlocked, it should work with a Vodafone nanosim. However (presuming it ever does get here) LTE won't work because the phone'll use the American bands for that.
- Should I buy an Iphone 5s from America and use it outside of America? An Iphone s where I live costs around $600.In America it costs around $199 plus a $70 year contract so it seems more reasonable to order it online from America. If I order it from America what would I need to do and what should I know before ordering an Iphone from America and using it in another country? Besides unlocking the phone, what else do I need to do?
- Iphone bought in America, will it work in Ireland? My neighbour is going to New York next week. I would love to get an Iphone 5, but in Ireland they are far too expensive. If she got the iphone 5 in the apple store, would it work here with my pre pay sim? How much is the iphone 5?
- If you buy an iPhone in America, can you use it to get service in Japan? And vice versa? I'm moving to Japan and i'm wondering if i should wait to go there to buy an iphone 5, but then they might not let me trade in my iphone 4 which is from America.
- If I buy an unlocked Iphone 5s in America can I use it in the UK? The phone is significantly cheaper in the States, so would it work ok if I brought it in the USA unlocked and then brought it back to England and sorted it out with a British contract?
