If your iPhone 4S was purchased from a network i.e not from Apple Store, then NO.

Get a micro-sim. T-Mobile UK got me a micro-sim for £10 w/ the same mobile number.

Unlocking can be done on the high streets in a shop or w/ your network.

Yes as long as the sim card is a micro sim and the phone accepts the sim ie its same network or the phone is unlocked
