Charged with theft? Took iPhone?

I'm a little worried here because I have to go to court for stealing an iPhone.

I took it and well I got caught, I kept lying to the cops too. I got my letter and now I'm waiting to go to court. I've never done anything illegal before, it's my first offense. I'm 15. And well I feel really bad for what I did.

Now, when I go to court, I'm going to apologize and tell the judge how bad I feel but what do you think my punishment will be? I mean, $500 iPhone, no other offences, and 15 years old.

How bad do I have it?

I doubt you are going to have much happen to you. You will most likely get a certain amount of hours doing community service. Which would include doing things like cleaning up the city and whatnot. If you can't produce the phone then you will definitely be fined, maybe more than the phone is worth.

Hopefully you will only get community service time.

My son had an incident with a phone in school and had 5 days suspension and a essay/short story to write on the incident and an apology. At home he had chores and a week of extra classwork as well as actual study and home work to accomplish. His first offense prevented him from getting 10 days suspension.

Good luck and I hope you have learned your lesson.

  • What happens to a minor who is charged with theft while on probation? Someone stole my brand new 500$ iPhone at school on Wednesday, and I found out who it was today. The person is currently on probation, but my family will be pressing charges. Is there a possibility this person could be locked up? If not, what would his punishment be?
  • What are some good anti-theft iPhone apps? I'll be buying an iPhone tomorrow, and in the past I've had way too many stolen. I don't want this to happen again, and am looking for apps to help prevent a thief from stealing my phone. What I'm really looking for is an app that will continue to work if the SIM card is removed, and will disallow someone from uninstalling it from the phone. Can anyone make any suggestions?
