Charging iPhone 5s with batteries?

Ok so I want to build a basic charger with a RC plane battery… Is this safe? WILL IT HURT THE PHONE?

As long as the battery produces exactly 5 volts and has a regulator circuit to detect when the phone is charged, and shut off the battery. I somehow doubt that's what you have. If so, don't do it. Instead, buy one of the many power packs available for this purpose at low cost (cheaper than RC plane batteries for sure).

Battery current is unregulated. The battery pack will have to have circuitry to control and detect charge rates and levels.

  • My Iphone 4s keeps breaking its batteries? Hey so I got this iphone 4s a while back on ebay for a steal of a price, but it had a terrible battery. I replaced it and it worked perfectly. After about a month or two the iphone battery broke again. Now the iphone won't even turn on, it just gives me the please charge symbol. Why does this keep happening? How can I permanently fix it?
  • Is it safe to install 3rd party iPhone 6 batteries? I'm an electrical engineer but Apple does not sell batteries directly to the consumer. Instead, they ship it to the authorized service centre. The service centre charges a lot for a new battery(around $200 or more). While going through Amazon, I was able to find iPhone 6 batteries for $30-50. My battery is ok for now but I was wondering if it is safe to put a 3rd party battery https://www.amazon.com/...01B4TEJUM/
  • Iphone 5 shutdown even with batteries? So a while ago, i slipped on the stairs while i had my phone on the back pocket. Now it seems to shutdown everytime the batteries hit around 20-30 percents and the music/ipod would freeze and being unresponsive. How do I fix this? My warranty has expired already.
  • How fast do the defective iPhone batteries die? I'm just wondering what would be considered normal battery life/charge time and what would be considered defective battery life/charge time? I'm not sure if I'm affected or not?
