Do I need a new sim card for an iPhone 6?
I current, y have a normal sized sim card which I attempted to trim some of the plastic off, but still doesn't fit.
Do I need s new sim card or can someone with a special tool be able to cut it?
You can do a think. Dump your i phone in your nearest dumpzone. And get a lumia
They can be cut but just ask your provider for a nano sim with your number.
The iPhone 6 uses nanoSIMs. Depending the backing of the SIM you have now you may be able to cut to size or get your carrier to issue you a new SIM with your number on it or could get a nanoSIM cutter.

Uses a different Sim card. Cutting the old one does NOT work anymore. Go to the phone store and they can do a new one. You have to register a smart phone with them anyway. Your phone number matches to the phone's serial number, or it won't work. That's to prevent anyone from stealing your phone service and number.
That assumes it is your phone, because an iPhone that has been placed on the blacklist (reported stolen/lost) can't be used simply by replacing the Sim card (as some cheap OTHER phones can!) I've heard some people say that it can, but I (and I'm an Apple certified tech who works on iPhones every day) can tell you it ain't gonna happen. No proper password and no phone usage (Only thing it's doing is that any time it is on, it is telling people where it is so the police can find it.)
