Do I need to own a Macbook to use an iPhone?
I know this is a pretty silly question, but I was wondering if I needed a Macbook if I have an iPhone? My dad's buying me an iPhone as a late high school graduation present, and it's the first time I'll be owning one. But, my laptop isn't a Macbook, and I was just wondering like if I plug in my iPhone to a non-apple computer, would it still work perfectly? Would I still be able to download easily?
Sorry if this is a pretty stupid question but thanks.

My brother has an iPhone and a windows PC and his have always worked fine. So no. Probably the same like you don't need a mac to use and iPod.
Just download iExplorer for your laptop. And things shud be fine.
So you are a new guy. Its ok. I'm nice. No. That does not matter. You can perfectly use your non apple comp. The only thing you need is itunes and you can that anywhere on any comp. So cheers and good luck with your iphone! You can still easily downlod stuff the exactly same way!
No. You need…
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
iTunes 10.7 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
You just need iTunes, which runs on both Macs and Windows computers.
- Locked iPhone and need sim card to use because I restarted it but i don't have the specific sim I need. Please i'm desperate? Ok so my aunt got me an iPhone from Canada but its sim locked and it says I need to insert a sim card for it to work. The problem is i don't have a sim from that specific company that locked it and the only thing I can do is emergency calls and all that. I can't even use it as an iTouch or something.
- If I use my own home Wi-Fi on my iPhone will that use up my data? Ok so I got an iPhone and I only have 300 mb on it. I'm using my own Wi-Fi at home and it says that I already used 3.94 of my data. I thought that if you use your own Wi-Fi, data won't be charged. And I put my cellular data off. So is there a way to use your own Wi-Fi and not get charged?
- I need to transfer my iphone to my new macbook air? I have my iphone completely backed up on my old PC, and now I'm moving it all onto my new mac. I've tried a *** ton of programs that are only free trials and only let you transfer like 50 files. I can't simply transfer purchases on itunes either because most of my music was not from itunes… I just need a way to move all my songs, easily. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
- I'm getting my own cell phone plan and an iPhone. What do I need to know? Also, if I want to keep my number do I need to call my family's plan and ask them to transfer something? Or what?
