Does iphone 4s work for straight talk?

If you live in an area with T-Mobile your phone will use T-Mobile towers for service. Unless you request AT&T.
If your phone uses AT&T towers for service you can only get 1.5GB of data with the $45 plan. You will get unlimited data if your phone uses T-Mobiles towers for service.
