Does iPhone drain more and more battery over time as it ages?

Explanation will be appreciated

Any phone does for that matter. It also depends on number of apps running and the usage.

Not really. But over time the battery will lose its ability to take a charge. It will still charge but not as much as it did in the past. This is normal for any battery and can't really be alleviated.

There are things you can do with the phone such as closing out apps and on occasion resetting the phone if need be but eventually the battery will have difficulty. Although that can take years.

Not necessarily; however, most rechargeable batteries for consumer electronics (which are usually lithium-ion based) degrade over time and usage, resulting in lower maximum battery life. This can give the illusion that your phone is draining faster if you're coming from a full charge.

How fast the battery degrades depends on its age (most important), temperature, how frequently you charge your device, and how heavily you use your phone (3D games, lots of movies, etc).

Hope this helps.

It will happen with all phones. We just keep using our phone but hardly have time to maintain our phone. There are many ways to do that. But I can't assure that they work. All have been tried different people in different condition.

Like everything, the battery of a phone is also suppose to age. Indeed it ages. After 1 year, you are not able to have the battery back of a phone as you used to have when it was brand-new. So it happens. It is a natural process. But you can slow it down by going several tricks shared by many people online.

You can keep limited number of apps and trick your phone if you want you preserve the life of battery for longer time. Not sharing internet through hotspot will incredible life to your life. Just do it by trying on you own. You charge the battery to full and than switch on Hostope for 2 hours. When you will see the device again, you will notice great decrease in your phone battery. And the more the devices are connected to phone's hotspot, the quicker the battery drains.

Likewise, there are many things that we do with our phone and these things of course lead a phone's battery aging rather quicker.

And I have checked my connections over and over I've uninstalled reinstalled, signed in signed back and everything else that the troubleshoot website has recommend. And it's gotten annoying. It didn't start doing this as much until I updated the app before the ios 7 release. I'm currently using the trial for netflix and my laptop doesn't work so I can get it on anything but my phone.

  • Why does my iPhone battery drain so quick? I took my phone off the charger at about 9:30am, it's now 10:01am and it was on 100%, I hardly used it, I only went on Facebook to check the newsfeed and reply to an inbox and now it's on 87%? I was watching it go down and it goes down 1% roughly every 2 minutes. It's been happening for about a week now and I'm lucky if my phone lasts me half a day. What can I do (WITHOUT BUYING A NEW PHONE)
