Does restoring a backup from an old iphone delete pictures on the new one?
I had an iPhone with los of pictures, data, etc that got stolen a few weeks ago. Since then, I have gotten a new iPhone and taken pictures, etc that I want to keep. I haven't gotten around to syncing my new iPhone with my compuer until now, and it's asking if I want to set up as a new phone or if I want to restore from my old iPhone backup. I had pictures on my old phone that I had lost hope of ever seeing again and would love to get back… But if I restore my new phone to the backup will it delete the more recent pictures I have taken with the new phone?
Setting it up as a new phone will cause it to sync only what is in your iTunes library.
Restoring from a backup will basically set it up like your old phone with the apps where they were on the old phone and in the folders they were in and the playlists you had already created.
Either way if the photos aren't in your iTunes they won't sync.
Yes it will delete them but you can get them off of your phone and save them to your computer and put em back on
- Why does restoring my iphone from a backup use up so many gigabytes? I have an iphone 5 and I'm trying to restore my phone from last backup. Unfortunately, the back up is cancelled about 30 minutes in because my hard disk runs out of space. I have 10 gigs left so there should be any problem with that. I went to mobilesync folder and then to the backup folder and there's one folder there. Once you click on that folder there are thousands of files in that folder that have several modified dates on them. Basically can I just delete the old dated files?
