Does this use my data on my iPhone?
I'm new to smartphones. And i was wondering if i'm in the car for example, and someone is sending me messages on skype, liking my instagram pics, etc, and its popping up on my lock screen, does that take my data? If so how do i turn it off.
also can you please list things that take up data?
Yep, that uses data. On an iPhone, you can go to Settings > Cellular, then scroll down and disable cellular for any apps you want. Just to make sure you know, texting with the built-in messaging app does not use data, unless you have iMessage enabled, and/or you are sending pictures/videos. Any kind of social media apps, iMessage, any weather apps, any browser (safari/chrome/etc), or anything that relies on internet access, unless you are connected to Wi-Fi, will use data.
It does but just text takes really little amounts, stuff like skype if its video takes alot of course
- Why does my iphone use data over night when cellular data is turned off? Every night I turn off cellular data and leave the iPhone on and one day I wake up and check my data manager and see i have already used 25 MB please help!
- When you use the amazon cloud on you iphone does that use data? Okay so for Christmas I got an iphone 4s and I have music on the amazon cloud that I want to listen to on my iphone. I have to be careful with how much data I use (especially since my brother can go a bit overboard) So I was just wondering whether just listening to the music on the amazon cloud uses data or not.
- When you have Wi-Fi and cellular data on at the same time, does it use cellular data? If I keep my cellular data on and also have my iPhone connected to Wi-Fi, will it use any of my cellular data?
- When does data for a iphone from Verizon reset? And what uses up data? I just got an iPhone and I'm getting messages that say that the "usage reset date" is 10/10. Does that mean that is the day my data will be reset? Also, what uses up data? All I've been doing since I got my iPhone is texting and looking at a few things on the internet but I'm always connected to my Wi-Fi.
