Why does my iphone use data over night when cellular data is turned off?
Every night I turn off cellular data and leave the iPhone on and one day I wake up and check my data manager and see i have already used 25 MB please help!
There are various possible reasons:
1. Your phone (if you have iOS 5) backs up to iCloud automatically when it is asleep and plugged in.
2. Your phone can check for E-Mails periodically, and download them automatically for you to see.
3. Your phone can transmit usage reports to apple (does not compromise your pers info) unless you have the settings turned off for that.
4, Push notifications.
These are only a few reasons why your phone can do that. If you look in the Settings or the user manual there are settings you can change so that your phone doesn't do any of that. This is one thing to remember if you travel overseas with your phone. It could cost you THOUSANDS of dollars in data-transfer.
- Will i be charged for texts on iPhone even though i turned off cellular data and enable 3G? I have turned off my cellular data and 3G believing that everything of texts web browsing etc. Is all based on Wi-Fi. I know imessage won't charge me even though i'm on Wi-Fi. However if i were to text someone who does not have an iphone and it isn't imessage will i still be charged? Because sending messages to them works with my cellular data and 3g off but will i be charged or even charged more since it is off?
- Why does charging an iPhone over night hurt it, and how can I help it? Okay. Does my battery die quickly because I charge it over night? And does it kinda mess it up? I've heard it does that. If so, then how and when do I charge my iPhone? How can I make it so my battery life lasts longer?
- When your iPhone is fully turned off does it still use data? I have used almost all my data and I have 9 days to have no data unless it is very important, but for next time when I'm at school if I turn it all the way off will it not use data or do I have to do in settings and turn it off there Cuz I rather just turn my phone alway off and it not use data Does it work that way
- When you have Wi-Fi and cellular data on at the same time, does it use cellular data? If I keep my cellular data on and also have my iPhone connected to Wi-Fi, will it use any of my cellular data?
