Dropped iPhone in loo - won't hold charge or recognise SIM
Monday evening: iPhone was in back pocket of jeans, I forgot, ran to loo in desperation for a pee when iPhone dropped out of the pocket as I was pulling down my jeans and went *splash* into the bowl.
I took the phone out, shook off excess water, wiped it down with alcohol, let is sit in a bag of rice for 24hours.
Tuesday evening: phone wouldn't power up on its own or plugged into charger. I vaccumed the ports and then used a drier on it on low settng about 7 inches from phone. Popped phone back into bag of rice.
Wednesday morning: phone turned on when plugged into charger, but switches off immediately when unplugged. Also does not register my SIM card at all. There's clear water damage under eh screen as I can see droplets.
I wish to take phone to Apple store today, but no slots left at genius bar. In interim, anyone have any ideas, tips or tricks?

Sadly no, this is the accidental death of many iPhones, from their careless teenaged female owners.
It is scrap, hope you have insurance on it and one that covers water damage as not all do. Either that or check on your household contents insurance as that may cover it.
- Why won't my iPhone 5s hold a charge? I know it's not my cable or the port that s screwed up, I plug my charger in and it shows the white screen with the apple logo. But that s all it does, it goes from black screen to white screen perpetually, until I take the charger out in which case it won't turn on at all. What could be wrong with my iPhone?
