Dropped my iPhone 4s down the toilet and the screen won't work?

I dropped my iPhone down the toilet so I put it in a bowl of rice in the airing cupboard, shook the water out & tried to dry it with a hair dryer. The phone is working but the screen isn't responding to anything. It lights up and i get the keyboard up but its not responding to touch. Any idea if it will work or will i need to replace it?

Power it off, put in a tin or rice or Cat litter
and in a dry warm place…
Think at least 3-4 days maybe 10-14 to get it fully dried

And Cat Litter works better than rice.
(more liquid absorbant)

Do not try to keep powering it up while it is still wet inside.
Do NOT use a hair fryer or anything hot on it, you will damage it.

If after 1-2 weeks and a full charge it does not recover,
Then go to or call your nearest Apple Genius bar
for 140 pounds (plus postage if you don't go there), they will do an out of warrenty exchange.

  • Iphone 4S dropped down the toilet I dropped my iPhone 4s down the toilet earlier. The back camera is blurry. The phone itself is working but won't register with iTunes. I've put it in a bag of rice in the airing cupboard to dry out. Do you think this will be enough to bring it back to life?
  • I dropped my iPhone six down the toilet? Although everything works (apart from the finger print) I'm still weary as I have heard stores where they have dropped their phone down the toilet and it was fine but the next day it didn't work. I only dropped it a few hours ago and it was in there for another 1-2 seconds. Would appreciate any advice on how to maybe stope it not working in the near future.
  • I dropped my IPhone in the toilet, and now my home button doesn't work? 2 days ago I dropped my IPhone 4 in the toilet, and pulled it out right away. I dried it off quickly and it was perfectly fine and nothing was wrong. But then last night, my home button started to not work unless I pressed it 10+ times… I have the accessible touch thing on, but I was wondering if could fix this myself?
