Dropped my Iphone 5s in bowl of milk cereal?
SO my stayed in a milk maximum 5 seconds. As soon as I dropped it, i turned it off took the sim card and put it in a rice. I checked it 6 hours later to see if its working, its working except the speaker. What should I do now? Will apple replace it with a new one? How do I fix it? How much do i pay?
Any suggestions people
They won't take it back if there's water damage they look at the bottom of the phone and if its a certain color they will know it has water damage
When milk that has gotten into any connectors or into the case dries out, it will leave behind deposits.
It might be possible for a repair shop to remove some of those deposits but no guarantees, as that phone could be ruined further.
If Apple takes it back it will be only as a unusable device and you won't get a new one free and won't get a discount towards another one.
An independent repair shop will buy the phone from you for very little money so they can salvage parts out of it like the screen and the case to use to repair other iPhones like it.
This is a very expensive lesson.
Never use any phone around food.
Never eat food near any electronic device.
Never drink anything when a phone is nearby.
Never use any phone while at or on a toilet.
