Found an Iphone, how do i use it?
I work for a bus company and I found a iphone 4 and turned it in. After 2 months of it not being claimed I was allowed to take it home. I cleared it so that there's no longer any of the persons infomation on it and it's just the iphone start up menu. I also took the sim card out. The iphone carrier was telus and I'm planning on getting a new plan with telus for the iphone. So my question is will it work? Or will they think i stole the phone? And if it's not as easy as getting a new plan with the same company would would i go about making it my phone?
If the iPhone has been reported as stolen, it might be impossible to get it working completely again, depending on which version of software it's running.
Google for IMEI check and visit a site that can check the IMEI number on your phone. It will tell you if it has been blocked.
As a general rule, it's very difficult to transfer an iPhone to a new owner without the cooperation of the previous owner, even if the transfer is legal and legitimate.
- Is it ok to use a iPhone you found on the ground? I found a iPhone 4 on the ground at the beach. I reset the whole phone to the way you would find it if it was new. It was from Verizon wireless and I had the same phone company to. I wanted to know if its ok to connect it to my plan. Would they ask me to return it or give it to a store or something? Could I get in trouble? Do I have to wait a certain amount of time to connect it?
