How much data does netflix use on the iPhone 5?

I have Verizon so I only have a 2gb data plan. I just got into a new tv series and its on netflix and each episode is about 40 minutes. I want to watch season 2, which has 22 episodes and I want to use my data to watch because its gives better quality than my Wi-Fi (it runs slow because my family uses the Wi-Fi as much as I do:/). Would watching the vids deplete all of my data?

I wouldn't waste that
One episode that length uses about 350mbs

Yes, starting with zero data used, you'll be over your limit in about 2 - 3 episodes. Streaming video uses a lot more data than just surfing the internet.

If you go into phone settings you should be able to set a limit on your data so once you hit 2 gb it'll shut off your ability to use data until it resets the next month. Helps to prevent the expensive overage charges.

  • When using Kik messenger on iPhone with your data plan, how much mb does it use? I'm getting an iPhone, and I tend to use kik messenger a lot on my blackberry already. How much mb of Internet does Kik use to send and/or receive messages, and picture messages? Is 500mb too low for someone who tends to use it a lot without Wi-Fi? Answers are greatly appreciated.
