There's no specific time frame to charge your battery because it all depends on your usage. The optimum use with (Li-Ion) Lithium Ion batteries is to charge it as close to dead as possible and to unplug it immediately after the charge has reached 100%. Of course most people don't do this. In the long run if you don't follow that it will just decrease your overall battery life faster.
When the charge drops below 20%, charge it. Or at night, if it's low, charge it over night so it's ready for you to use the next day.
