You have to set it up on their phone first. All you need is to enable find my iphone on the other phones and find my iphone. Then from your phone all you need is their apple ID and Password. I have know my kids apple id's since i set them up to begin with. I also have the phones restricted from changing the settings. I know where my kids are 24/7. You really don't have to restrict settings, but I had too with my stepson, because he was getting out of control.
